59th Annual Women’s Weekend 2008

 

May 16-18, 2008 at Camp McDowell

Join us for a wonderful weekend

of relaxation, fun, fellowship, and spiritual enrichment.

Our spiritual journey will be led by: Rev. Bob and Kay Blackwell.

Bob and his wife Kay arrived at Grace Episcopal Church in Cullman in January 2007 after serving as Chaplain to All Saints Episcopal Church in Damascus, Syria.  Prior to their mission experience, Bob served as rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Talladega, Alabama for 17 years.  His first parish as a priest was St. Joseph’s on the Mountain in Mentone, Alabama.  Bob and Kay both grew up in Decatur, Alabama and still have family there.  Bob graduated from Auburn University and Kay from the University of Alabama.

 

Friday evening- "Wine and Unwind"- everyone is requested to please bring some food and drink to share, such as cheese and crackers platters, dips and chips, wine, etc.

Friday evening- Poolside Compline at the end of the evening

Saturday afternoon- Book Signing


Author Rev. Richard Losch (Ret.) will sign

Saturday afternoon- Workshops:

  • Japanese Sumi-e (Ink) Painting

  • Quilt Making

  • Mosaics

  • Scrap Booking

  • and everyone's favorite...Belly Dancing!

Through Saturday evening- Silent Auction

to benefit the ECW Scholarship Fund, so plan to do some early Christmas shopping!

Plus lots of great food, music, fun and fellowship!

 

Throughout the weekend- The Episcopal Book Store will be there with the usual good books and gift items for your shopping pleasure.

 

And don't forget about just good ole front porch rocking.....

Be sure to pack your bible, a flashlight, casual clothes, a jacket for cool nights, and snacks and beverages to share.  All participants are requested to please bring food and drink to share for Friday's "Wine and Unwind".  Also, if you are a musician, be sure to bring your guitar, violin, etc.
