The ECW Diocesan Board and the
Cheaha Convocation
invite you to join us for the 121th Annual Fall
Conference in Anniston, Alabama, October 7th and 8th,
2010.
The
Rev. Margaret Rose is Co-Director of Mission for The
Episcopal Church, a position she has held since January
2009. As such, she oversees mission and ministry
programs as well as advocacy efforts and resource creation
for The Episcopal Church.
Previously, she was the Director of the Mission Leadership
Center, and the Director of Women’s Ministries for The
Episcopal Church. Prior to that, she was the rector of
St. Dunstan’s Church in Atlanta, Georgia, coordinator of the
feminist theology program at Episcopal Divinity School in
Boston, and urban missioner in a parish in Hyde Park,
Massachusetts.
She holds degrees in religion and biblical studies from
Wellesley College and studied political science at the
Institute of Politics in Paris. She has an M.Div. from
Harvard University and a certificate of Ecumenical Studies
from the University of Geneva and Ecumenical Institute of
the World Council of Churches. She was ordained an
Episcopal priest in 1981.
She notes: “My understanding that our faith compels us
to be engaged in the public arena is the grounding for the
work I do.”

Note:
ECW bylaws
allow two voting delegates from each parish for the business
meeting. Others attending from the same parish will be
classified as visitors. Please indicate your
classification on your registration form.
Sharing Session:
The Parish Sharing Session will be Friday, 8:00am. We ask that each parish
representative be prepared to take up to two minutes to tell of one highlight
or accomplishment of your year or one
thing you hope to take back to your parish for the coming
year. Those who wish to present must sign up on Thursday
at the registration table. Promptness will help us stay
on schedule.
Memorial
Roll: Names of church women who died between September 1, 2009, and
September 2010 should be sent to
ECW Diocesan Treasurer
by September 12. The names will be entered in the Book of
Remembrance and read during the Prayers of the People at the
Memorial Eucharist at Fall Conference. Please include the given name,
maiden name and husband’s last name (in capital letters).
Any gifts honoring a deceased church woman will be added to
the ECW Scholarship Fund and
should be sent to ECW; Diocese of Alabama; 521 North 20th
