A block of rooms has been reserved for our conference in Birmingham at the Comfort Inn, 4400 Colonnade Parkway at a special rate.  Be sure to mention our conference (group #100941) when you call for your reservation. (205-968-3700).  The deadline for rooms at our special rate is September 8th.
The Rev. Dr. Jo Bailey Wells will be the conference speaker at the 119th Annual Fall Conference of the Alabama ECW on October 9 -10, 2008 in Birmingham, Alabama.

 

The ECW Diocesan Board and the Birmingham Convocation invite you to join us for the 119th annual Fall Conference in Birmingham, Alabama, October 9th and 10th, 2008.   The Rev. Dr. Jo Bailey Wells, of Duke University, is the featured speaker for the conference. 

We are looking forward to a wonderful conference with sharing, learning and the joy of being together in our faith.

Parish sharing session:  We ask that each parish be prepared to take 1 ˝ minutes – 2 minutes – at the very most, to tell of one highlight of your year or one thing you hope to take back to your parish for the coming year.  The schedule has been arranged so that we can give sufficient attention to the annual business meeting, to our featured speaker, to sharing and to break times. Promptness will help us stay on schedule.  You might want to use your free time to chat with women from other parishes about their projects and meetings.

***Memorial Roll:   Names of church women who died between September 1st, 2007 and September 2008 should be mailed to ECW Diocesan Treasurer by Sept 15th.  The names will be entered in the Book of Remembrance and read during the Prayers of the People at the Memorial Eucharist.  Please include the given name, maiden name and husband’s last name in capital letters.  Any gifts honoring a deceased church women will be added to the ECW Scholarship Fund and should be sent to:  ECW, Diocese of Alabama, 521 North 20th Street, Birmingham, AL 35203.
